Queenies

Queenies are small handmade dollies made using artist The Black Pixie's own unique and original design. Made from recycled woolen blanket, preloved beads on their crowns and filled with hobby fill toy stuffing. Although no two are the same, they all measure approximately 13-15cm high. They are not perfect and neat, nor are they meant to be.

Whanganui artist Jillaine Lang, aka The Black Pixie, is a mixed media maker who repurposes and upcycles vintage textiles and interesting op shop finds. Her art and items of whimsy embrace imperfection and draw from eclectic sources of material and inspiration.
