Little Taonga - Maunga-Nui Breastplate Earrings
Couldn't load pickup availability
Jewellery designed by Little Taonga and art by Greg Ashwell, Atawera Art, Kaikōura. Maunga-nui, meaning 'great mountain', draws inspiration from the powerful peaks of Aotearoa, standing tall as a symbol of strength, protection and enduring resilience. The kōuma (breastplate) represents strength, resilience and the ability to shield oneself from negative energies or harm.
Each piece is made from fine brass dipped in sterling silver, covered with a clear tarnish-resistant coating to protect them from the elements. Packaged in a Little Taonga soft velvet pouch.
Little Taonga treasures are designed by Ngāi Tahu and Rangitāne artist, Cezanne Lyons, drawing inspiration from her culture and love for Aotearoa. Cezanne lives in Mangamaunu, a picturesque coastal settlement just north of Kaikōura, where much of her inspiration comes from being surrounded by spectacular nature, wildlife, and rich culture.
